Community Spotlight: Marquise Davon's 'Spill the Beans' Live Podcast + Workshop Series turns 1 year old
Alex Hillman
This coming December marks one year since Marquise Richards launched his event series Spill the Beans and his complimentary coffee brand Leroy’s Coffee, so we want you to meet him!

If you haven’t experienced one of his events, or listened to his podcast Keepin’ it a Bean, you’re missing something special.
Marquise is an educator, activist, and a curator in every way. Among his many efforts and platforms, he assembles a community of learners and doers at the Indy Hall Clubhouse every other month for a live podcast and educational workshop about topics around building community, creative empowerment, and liberation.
Like all of our community event partners, I think of Marquise as a collaborator rather than someone renting a room for a few hours. He’s a thought partner, a trusted ally in organizing, and if anybody gets the value of co-creating outcomes it’s Marquise and his crew!
Stay tuned for more on his December anniversary event, which will celebrate both the year of this event series and his coffee brand Leroy’s Coffee, locally roasted by Black owned BVP Coffee.
Most of all, Marquise demonstrates what our community partnerships look like when they’re done right: consistent value, mutual growth, and genuine community building. I’m so excited to see what year two brings!
